My practice explores the interplay between impressionistic sensibilities and surreal, atmospheric space. Working primarily with oil pastels, I employ an intuitive, process-led approach shaped through self-directed study and ongoing experimentation.My work functions as both a visual record of development and an investigation into perception, mood, and memory. Through my evolving practice, I aim to encourage engagement with creative processes to build confidence, curiosity, and personal expression.

My Research

Documenting my research journey alongside creating artworks.

My practice is grounded in research across both traditional and modern ideologies. This space brings together my dissertation and ongoing studies into expressive colour, dreamlike atmospheres, and contemporary art. My written and visual creations are interconnected, each informing and shaping the other.

My Undergraduate Dissertation:

The Application of Colour in Fauvism and Its Legacy on Contemporary Painting.

The investigation of expressive colour and its progression through art history has become a defining element of my creative practice. This essay provides a critical analysis of colour as a conceptual and expressive medium, explored through Fauvism and its continued influence on contemporary painting.Awarded a 92% (First-Class Honours)

I am a Huddersfield-based contemporary artist, with a practice centred around impressionistic philosophies and surreal atmospheres.Working primarily with oil pastels as a self-taught artist, I value continuous learning and creative exploration, using my work to document and share this ongoing process.As an aspiring creative arts teacher, I aim to inspire others to explore their creativity and find a sense of enjoyment and confidence in their artistic journey.
